For this exhibition, Schroff is returning to painting after decades away in other disciplines, and creates beautifully measured stencils, cut by hand through dense cardboard. Using patterns and portraits, often music icons from Rock’s most heroic moment: Iggy, Prince, Elvis… The stencil is the readymade, propelling his work into swift, pattern-conscious excitement.
